Overview
Welcome to your recognising the sick child elective module. This module is designed to build on your existing knowledge of general paediatric assessment. This module discusses the clinical determinants you may use to recognise a very unwell child and the red flags of paediatric assessment. It is beyond the scope of this module to cover all possible causes of paediatric illness. We have instead focused on the common presentations you may see in your UCC.
We hope you enjoy this module and that it empowers you to recognise and care for a very unwell child.
This module will take approximately 3 hours to complete. This may vary for some learners. This is an elective module and is entirely optional to complete.
